To scatter, or disperse. Smoke from a smokestack blown by the wind is dissipated, or scattered, into the atmosphere.
To lessen in concentration or intensity , Smoke can dissipate due to mixing with surrounding cleaner air. Electrical power can be dissipated by being changed heat by a motor , transformer , or resistor.
