ضریب کشسانی حجمی ، معیاری برای سنجش تراکم ناپذیری یک ماده است.اگر فشار در واحد حجم ماده به اندازه dp افزایش یابد حجم مورد نظر به اندازه dv- کاهش خواهد یافت. از نسبت این دو عبارت ضریب کشسانی حجمی حاصل می‌شود مطابق تصویر.
و از آنجایی که عبارت V/dV بدون بعد است می‌توان واحد K را بر حسب فشار در نظر گرفت.
Description
The bulk modulus ( K ) of a substance is a measure of how resistant to compression that substance is. It is defined as the ratio of the infinitesimal pressure increase to the resulting relative decrease of the volume. Consider the formula in the image, and since the expression V / dV is dimensionless, unit K can be considered in terms of pressure.
