در زمان تعمیر سطوح بدنه از صفحاتی هم جنس بدنه برای پر کردن و همسطح کردن محل تعمیر از لحاظ آیرودینامیکی استفاده میشود که به آن Filler plug میگویند. این صفحات توسط صفحۀ دیگری به نام doubler که از زیر پوسته نصب میشود حمایت و در جای خود محکم میشود.
البته به درب باک و تانک هم Filler plug گفته میشود.
Description
The plug installed in a sheet metal or wood structural repair to make the surface of the repair coincide with the original skin contour. The filler plug is used only to make the surface aerodynamically smooth. The strength of the repair comes from the doubler inside the structure.
The tank lid is also called filler plugs.
