Blade cuff

A thin, sheet metal, airfoil-shaped covering over the shank of a propeller blade. Cuffs force air through the cowling of an air-cooled engine to improve its cooling. A metal, wood, or plastic cuff installed around the shank of a propeller blade to carry the airfoil shape of the blade all the way to the propeller hub. The airfoil shape of the cuff pulls cooling air into the engine.
