سیستم رادار مخصوص تقرب دقيق که با کمک پارامترهای دقیق خلبان را قادر به تقرب و فرود دقیق می نماید. این سیستم راداری از دو آنتن جداگانه استفاده می کند. یکی برای تعیین موقعیت افقی هواپیما نسبت به خط وسط باند و دیگری برای تعیین موقعیت عمودی هواپیما نسبت به زاویه گلایدی که به باند منتهی می شود. یک کنترلر زمینی خلبان را به صورت افقی و عمودی هدایت می کند تا موقعیت خود را روی خط وسط و زاویه گلاید حفظ کند.
Description
A radar system that used two separate antenna. One is used to determine the aircraft's horizontal position relative to the extended centerline of the runway, and the other to determine the aircraft's vertical position relative to the glideslope leading to the runway. A ground controller directs the pilot of the aircraft horizontally and vertically to maintain position on centerline and on the glideslope.
