سطوح افقی متحرک که روی سکان افقی هواپیما توسط یک لولا نصب شده است و حرکت آنها باعث حرکت هواپیما حول محور عرضی مشود یعنی با حرکت این سطوح به سمت پایین دماغه هواپیما به سمت پایین میرود و زمانیکه این سطوح به سمت بالا حرکت کند دماغه هواپیما هم به سمت بالا حرکت می نماید.
کنترل و حرکت این سطوح با عقب و جلو بردن یوک کنترل در داخل کابین خلبان صورت میپذیرد.
Description
The horizontal, movable control surface in the tail section, or empennage, of an airplane. The elevator is hinged to the trailing edge of the fixed horizontal stabilizer. Moving the elevator up or down, by fore-and-aft movement of the control yoke or stick, changes the aerodynamic force produced by the horizontal tail surface.
