نوعی استارت برای هواپیماهای بزرگ با موتورهای پیستونی که در آن توان چرخشی بوسیله موتور الکتریکی تامین و به یک چرخ لنگر بزرگ (flywheel ) منتقل شده و پس از آنکه چرخ لنگر به سرعت بالا رسید ارتباطش با موتور الکتریکی قطع میشود و سپس از طریق یك سری دنده های كاهشی و یك كلاچ لغزنده به میل لنگ موتور متصل شده و نیروی گشتاور را به آن منتقل می کند.
Description
A type of starter for large aircraft reciprocating engines. A series-wound electric motor spins a heavy flywheel to store energy. When the flywheel is spinning at a high speed, the motor is disconnected, and the flywheel is connected to the engine crankshaft through a series of reduction gears and a slip clutch.
